A new local gift option for art lovers is here—just in time for Christmas
Posted on
Say goodbye to generic art prints that are sold a dime a dozen and get ready to hang some locally made art up on your walls—the team at Canberra.Art has paired up with local artists and photographers.
That’s right. And the best bit? The team at Canberra.Art will deliver it straight to your door (because who has time these days to be running around town?) and with no extra delivery fee and prints starting at $69 it makes it an affordable option this Christmas.
It’s the first of its kind here in Canberra and is helping to make local art accessible to everyday people, while also reducing the burden on creatives looking to sell art prints.
The online platform is the brainchild of Korske Ara and his creative team from the fine art print studio, Lucent Imaging.

“Since we started printing artworks and photographs for our creative community in 2018, we’ve heard both sides of the story, creatives looking for a way to share their work with the broader community and people looking for a place to buy local art prints to support our local creatives,” says founder of Lucent Imaging and Canberra.Art, Korske.
“Talking to both sides, who are often in different circles, we realised that we could help create a way to connect the seekers with the creators. We are passionate about promoting the visual arts industry and the rights of artists here in Canberra.”
From their Canberra-based printing studio, Canberra.Art works by licencing artworks from local creatives, turning them into high-quality art prints for everyday people and delivering them to your door.
“We believe in building genuine relationships within our community. Through Canberra.Art we want to connect local creatives with everyday people, local industry and government, making it easier to choose local art prints for their homes and workspaces.”

Made specifically for Canberra artists and photographers, Korske wanted to tap into the incredible level of local talent and give the wider community a portal where they can browse, buy and love local art all in one place.
They’ve been launched less than a week and already have a fantastic range of works to choose from. The likes of Valentyna Crane, Liss Kamp, Sarah Richards and Katherine Appleby, are known for their beautiful artworks. Paul Summerfield and Stuart McMillen feature for their digital art and Dan Cusack, Tim Bean, and Simon Thorpe present their collections of local and regional photographs.
“We’re designed for anyone living or working in an environment with blank walls. Great art can completely transform a space, lift your mood and inspire creativity. Everyone deserves to be surrounded by art, especially art that’s been locally created and printed,” says Korske.
Choosing an artwork that your loved one will have to stare at every day can be a pretty daunting task and Korske has thought of this and is also selling gift certificates so people can choose their perfect piece.
Christmas shopping has never been easier. The hardest part will be only selecting a few prints and not buying the whole store.
